· Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:
Our hospital can provide your pet's complete health care needs to ensure you keep your pet safe, healthy, and happy: diagnostic and therapeutic services; routine preventive “wellness” care; and treatment of all illnesses. We are equipped with state of the art medical equipment to monitor blood pressure levels, test for glaucoma, and examine and photograph ear canals with our fiber optic scope.
We will be happy to refer you to a veterinary specialist should your pet require any treatment or diagnostic service that we cannot safely and comfortably provide in our hospital. We refer to, and consult with, specialists who provide cataract surgery, cancer radiation treatment, I-131 therapy for hyperthyroidism and other unique illnesses.
· Surgical Services:
Our newly constructed surgical suite allows us to perform a wide range of surgical services from routine spay/neuter procedures to major abdominal surgery, tumor removal, eye surgery, and other more complex surgical procedures. In addition to traditional surgery, we also have radiocautery and a state-of-the-art CO2 Laser Surgery Unit that allows surgery with less bleeding, less swelling and reduced postoperative discomfort for our patients.
· Anesthesia:
We use the safest anesthetics available to provide your pet an increased margin of safety and comfort during surgical procedures, especially for older or high risk patients. Using our state-of-the-art equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures. In addition to direct observation by our technicians, we utilize pulse oximetry, capnography, and a new blood pressure unit to monitor our anesthetized patients.
· Pain Management/Analgesia:
We are very proactive regarding pain control and management and employ the most advanced pain control therapies available. Our doctor has extensive experience as well as postgraduate training in pain prevention and pain management techniques. We now offer Class IV therapeutic LASER for the management of chronic pain from hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, intervertebral disc disease and chronic arthritis pain.
· Radiology Services:
Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many disorders.
· Electrocardiography Services:
Our hospital provides ECG services on-site and consults with cardiology specialists in Gainesville and New York as needed.
· Laboratory:
Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and testing for blood and intestinal parasites and other anomalies. We also make use of commercial veterinary diagnostic laboratories for specialized tests and diagnosis of unusual medical condition and affordable comprehensive profiles.
· Pharmacy:
We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, and heartworm preventatives to treat your pet.
· Dentistry:
We offer comprehensive dental services, including cleaning and polishing, fluoride treatment, full mouth dental X-rays, tooth extractions and oral surgery. Our state-of-the-art dental services suite ensures all procedures for your pet are conducted in a safe, comfortable enviroment. Our doctor and dental staff have extensive experience and knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of modern dental disease. Our dental practice is considered a “house specialty.”
· Individualized Flea Control Programs:
We develop Flea control and provention programs for the specific needs of your pet and your unique environmental circumstances. We will suggest a strategy to best control fleas in your house, in your yard, and on your pet.
· Dietary Counseling:
We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional requirements for each life stage, including dietary recommendations for growth, weight maintenance, and improved quality of life. We also make available dietary management programs for specific health problems such as food allergy, cardiac, and kidney disease.
· Behavior Counseling:
When your beloved pet requires a bit of loving direction, we can provide advice regarding the correction of unwanted behavior such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling or aggression. We offer behavioral modification approaches and pharmaceutical management when indicated. We will gladly work out an approach to correct to your pet’s misbehavior.
· Boarding:
We provide pet boarding and kennel services to our clients. All of our boarding guests will receive lots of personal attention from our enthusiastic and caring kennel staff. Our boarding facility is completely climate controlled so your pet’s comfort is assured. We have both indoor runs and cages for smaller pets. We have a large, enclosed exercise yard that allows your pet to run and play freely, off the leash. Your pet is supervised at all times while in the play yard. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Saturday. Sunday pickup by appointment may be arranged.
We also can provide boarding for smaller animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets.
· Bathing:
Routine and therapeutic bathing services for various dermatologic conditions are available Monday through Friday.
· Grooming Services:
We offer a full service grooming salon to pamper your pet. Please inquire at the office for details and booking a salon session.
